ASAP: Senior GL Accountant IFRS Reporting (m/w/d)

Our client is a well-established international organisation operating in a complex and fast-paced environment. Due to business needs, they are looking for an experienced accounting professional who can start quickly and contribute to high-quality financial reporting and control processes. Job Description - Own the general ledger and financial reporting for the assigned entity - Prepare, review and post journal entries, accruals, provisions and period-end adjustments - Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations and resolve outstanding items - Coordinate accounting activities with AP, AR, Treasury, Banking and other finance teams - Support monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes - Analyse financial results and explain key balance sheet and P&L movements - Prepare reporting packages for group consolidation and statutory requirements - Ensure compliance with IFRS, internal controls and accounting policies - Maintain strong audit trails and supporting documentation - Act as a key contact for internal and external auditors - Drive process improvements, standardisation and data quality initiatives - Support finance projects, system enhancements and ad-hoc analysis The Successful Applicant - Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline - Minimum 5 years of experience in financial accounting or general ledger accounting - Strong understanding of IFRS and financial reporting processes - Knowledge of Swiss GAAP and Swiss statutory accounting is advantageous - Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, audits and financial controls - Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems - Analytical, detail-oriented and solution-driven mindset - Able to work independently while building strong stakeholder relationships - Strong communication skills with the ability to explain accounting concepts clearly - Fluent in English; German is considered a strong advantage What's on Offer - Key role within an international finance organisation - High visibility across multiple finance functions - Exposure to IFRS reporting and audit activities - Opportunity to improve processes and controls - Collaborative and professional working environment - Broad stakeholder interaction and project involvement
